If you haven't already read a lot of said books then this is a good one to start with. Having spent some time in the west, I could viscerally feel each scene. The book was not what I expected for a no-till handbook. You will have to determine what your needs are and to have both packages will cost several hundred dollars, something to consider. I also found the constant chaos of this book nerve grating. For gun lovers, it's nice to see firearms, etc, represented properly and accurately for a change.
The ONLY real criticism I have is his use of "incisors" when he clearly means "canines" in referring to the monsters' teeth. It appears to me that he often employed the defense mechanism called reaction formation which means he took an attitude with others the opposite of which produced anxiety in himself. Few of them even list the work illustrated.
