The story of the ZR-1 Corvette and the high-performance LT5 engine is a fascinating tale of interest to every Corvette enthusiast. The author gives you an inside look at how the ZR-1 was born, what went into the design and manufacture of the LT5 engine, and why production was discontinued. THE HEART OF THE BEAST also discusses the exciting American and European debuts of the ZR-1, the numerous world records set by this potent Corvette, and the various aftermarket variations of the ZR-1.
Editorial : It’s well presented, easy to read, and ideal for any enthusiast’s library. -- Keith Beschi, American Car World
I liked the personal success stories and annotated charts - but she makes it all seem so easy. We checked this out from our library and max out our renewal limit, but we wanted more time with this book.. It was not uncommon for presentations and events up to 1905 discussed, only to backtrack in the next passage to 1880 and start all over again. James seems to be the source for the main essay but the James book is more insightful in my opinion.
