These were the days before commuter airlines; most flights to my duty stations were nonstop and the turbo props and jets were new. From the first page, I was hooked as soon as Leon, the brave protagonist, boldly decides to "proclaim his love" with a valentine for his secret crush, Zoey Maloney. But we still are not up to the glory days of the charcter, which is why the next volume of "The Essential Thor" is way past due.. I felt that I understood just about all of it.
