Editorial : If you own a beach house, have decorated parts of your home in a coastal theme or simply love the beach, this book will be a real treasure. There are a generous 25 projects between the covers, all made with a "seaside" theme. They include cushions, quilts, softies, a bag and a hat, made with a variety of techniques: applique, hand and machine embroidery, garment sewing and quilting among them. Twenty-two different designers have contributed projects, which has resulted in a spectrum of styles, colours and materials. We'll admit that our favorites were the seahorse, rainbow fish and hermit crab softies, and the roomy beach bag that has zippered pockets, drawstring closure, adjustable shoulder strap and carry handle. The instructions seem quite detailed, but there aren't many diagrams so visual learners are relatively straightforward so we don't think you'll encounter too many difficulties.

While Vince Colletta's inking isn't entirely to my taste or consistent in quality, there's a wealth of fine moments throughout, and there's something about the raw energy of Kirby's style in this period that shines through. But all in all give this book a 3 1/2 stars and am definitely going to read this authors other series I was given this book by the author for a fair and honest review. The needs and wants of a rich and elite minority (often educated abroad and having sizable assets in other countries) in-country take precedence over the very real day to day needs of the poor majority. You do not have to be a fan of racing to enjoy it either. But her longing
