Jataka tales are the stories the Buddha told of his previous lives. They are sometimes humorous, sometimes touching, but always instructive in morality and the Dhamma. Originally translated in English at the beginning of the twentieth century, these tales take on new life in this exciting retelling. This anthology contains 217 of the 547 stories from the original Pali.
