I would actually like to see a longer version by this author. While the book has very beautiful photo quality of black men, at the same time I feel there are some photos that are rather questionable or should not have been included in this booktwo men kissing was somewhat of a turn-off that took away from the beauty of it. The book is not about how to establish the text of an early music edition, for instance, it assumes the reader already knows about ficta, perfectio or coloration; rather it is about how to format and lay out the text once established, in order to make the score and its appratus reliable, consistent, complete, clear and readable. This is one of the best books on birds I have read in many years and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it (as well as making me think). A great survey and introduction for the seldom read Biblical texts.
